Our History

Founded in 2011 by Kevin Jordan, ABS was formed out of the need for minorities in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to have access to culturally relevant mental health and substance abuse services.

In May 2011, ABS was approved by Community Care Behavioral Health as a group practice to provide outpatient services.  Our team includes Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Professional Counselors as well s Clinical Psychologists and Board Certified Psychiatrists who provide client-centered and compassionate care.

In January 2013, ABS received accreditation from the Joint Commission which is the highest level of health care accreditation in the United States.  This accreditation was a part of the process for ABS to receive a license as a Mental Health and Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic in September 2013.

As of today, ABS is the only minority owned and operated dual diagnosis treatment clinic in Pennsylvania.  It began providing outpatient and intensive outpatient drug and alcohol services.

*The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies nearly 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States.
